Spirits torch the Barn Yard.
1>99 posts the season-high 200.64 and needs nearly every point of it to beat The Barn Yard's 193.02.
The Spirits renamed themselves 1>99, and for one week the math checked out. Puka Nacua went for 37.70 and Josh Allen added 31.50 in a 200.64 no one has topped this season. The Barn Yard got 32.26 from Jayden Daniels and 23.00 from its kicker, scored 193.02, and lost anyway. The loss handed first place to Maney’s Trade Federation, now 8-2 after Jahmyr Gibbs’s 37.70 sank K9’s Junkyard.
Despair Mcnair, still trying so hard to think positive, sank to a season-low 67.44 and lost to Charismatic Football Club by 50.28. David Montgomery gave 1.10 and is listed Out with a groin injury. KC Concepcion gave 1.50 after a helmet-to-helmet hit from Fitzpatrick while chasing a deep pass from Deshaun Watson, who was starting for The Weather Boy. When the other guy’s quarterback gets your receiver knocked out, the universe has picked a side.
The Junkyard swapped Joe Mixon for Will Shipley Wednesday, got 8.30 and a foot injury, and cut him Tuesday. That’s a short lease, even for a rebuild.
In Week 6, the 1-9 Despair gets the 6-4 Spirits, who lead the series 2-1. The 7-3 Barn Yard plays 7-3 Flint Tropics, tied 2-2, with Lamar Jackson listed Out with an ankle injury. And 6-4 Mosaic Fantasies draws Maney, down 3-0 all time. They won’t see the ManeyCast’s gloating, but the rest of the league will.
